Services

The Mary P. Oenslager Scholastic Achievement Awards (RFB&D Founder)

Each year, RFB&D awards to nine outstanding students with print disabilities to nine blind or visually impaired seniors a scholarship at four-year US colleges or universities. Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:

  • be legally blind
  • be registered individually, or through a school, with RFB&D for at least one year, and have borrowed at least one RFB&D audiobook during that time
  • have received, or will receive, a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the US or its territories.
  • have an overall academic average for their undergraduate years of 3.0 or more on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent, if an alternative grading system is used)

Three top winners will receive $6,000 each; three Special Honors winners will receive $3,000 each; and three Honors winners will receive $1,000 each.
