Services
All materials must be postmarked by 2/15 in order to be considered for a scholarship for the next school year. Only recipients of the scholarship will be notified by 4/15.
Funds
The amount of Minnie Pearl Scholarship is a maxium of $2,500 annually and is to be used at any
accredited junior college, college, university, or technical school in the United States for four
years. The scholarship is only for undergraduates. The scholarship is applied directly to tuition.
If the tuition falls below $2,500 that tuition amount only will be awarded.
If a recipient continues to maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, the selection
committee will consider the individual for annual renewal through his/her four years of
undergraduate study only. Recipients who obtain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average
at the end of each school year are eligible for $500 bonus, which will be paid directly to the
individual.
Recipients who discover they are to receive a full tuition scholarship from another organization
are no longer eligible for a Minnie Pearl Scholarship.
To qualify for the Minnie Pearl Scholarship, An applicant must meet the following critera. All of the criteria must be met in order for the application to be considered.
- Currently be a high school senior with a least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
- Must plan to attend a junior college, university, or technical school on a full-time basis (12 hours per quarter or semester)
- Have significant bilateral hearing loss.
- Be a mainstreamed hearing-impaired student.
- Be a United States Citizen.
